A ritualistive reading to provoke a spirital response. This divination uses subjective, abstract phenomenon, communication through your dreams (oneiromancy) or through waking visions, omens. This falls in between intutiive and inductive. There is a ritual act that is fluid, complex, or densely coded that is the resulting message is read based on the diviner's own spiritual wisdom. Cleromancy is the divination of casting objects (sticks, letter tiles, numbers, shells). I-Ching (Stick or Coin tosses) & Oromancy (egg readings) fall in this category. Non-fixed or symbolic messages.
2. Inductive (tools):
This type of divination is the most "common" using tools such as tarot, runes, oracle cards, teat leaves, coffee grinds, dice rolls, stick or stone castings (cleromancy), cowie shells, coins tosses, marbles, or any other object to "induce" the higher meaning through the fixed micro or mirror version. There is a visual to guide the messages and a structured set of estrablished symbols and respective meanings. The reader applies them to the seekers situation and/or questions. Fixed set messages.
3. Observational:
This type of divination is observing natural phenomenon such as cloud shapes, patterns of waves in the ocean, birds flying in formation, leaves falling on the ground, smoke from a fire, water ripples, behavior of animals, even watching crowds of people too. Natural patterns in surroundings. The Omen Walk is a great way to observe the world through the lense of this intution. See Link. Astrology (reading the stars) falls into this category too! Augury is all nature divinations.
4. Intuitive: (Clair's)
Using your senses to read messages such as Clairvoyant, ClairSentience, Claircognizant etc. Channeling, Seance. This divination requires direct pyschic abilities, sometimes supported through a focus tool like scrying, crystal balls. Some can feel messages through touching objects, items. This is inner insight, wisdom applied to the messages. This type also is where warnings connecting to "bad" spirits can happen, through mediumship or seances, ie channeling.
